Disney Finds at BoxLunch | March 2021

As you might have noticed by now, we’re always drawn to the fun Disney stuff wherever we go. Call it an occupational hazard. That’s why, during a recent trip to one of the malls in our local area, we stepped into BoxLunch.

We’ve talked about places like BoxLunch before, though I didn’t mention BoxLunch specifically at the time. This is because we were focusing more on where you can save money and I’m not fully up to speed on sales at BoxLunch. . . . it doesn’t really matter at the current moment. The long and short of it is that BoxLunch is a shop where you can buy pop-culture merchandise. Personally, BoxLunch feels a whole lot like HotTopic with the counterculture swapped out for an extra serving of kawaii. Same type of shop. . . same type of merchandise. . . different audience. . . lots of Disney stuff!

Aside from having Disney stuff, thus giving you even more fun stuff to choose from, BoxLunch also has a lots of “exclusive” merchandise. In other words, you can find Loungefly bags, wallets and other licensed Disney merchandise that you can’t find elsewhere. [The same is true for HotTopic. Yet another way that they are similar.] This makes BoxLunch yet another stop on the list of places you should check out if you’re making the trek to your local mall. Which, like I said, is exactly what we did.

Now normally, when we go on a little bit of a virtual shopping trip like this, I like to share links to the fun stuff that we’re looking at. That way, if something catches your eye, you can find out more about it or buy it for yourself. Unfortunately, I struggled a little bit with that during this particular trip. I’m not sure if this is a BoxLunch thing or if it’s something that is a result of merchandise not moving as quickly due to everything that’s happened in the last year leaving stuff on the shelves that is no longer on the website. Either way, I apologize in advance.

Any fans of the Disney Villains out there?

It’s no secret that most people gravitate towards the cute and fun-loving Disney characters, but there are some of us who have a soft spot for villains. If that’s you, then places like BoxLunch are a great place to check out! In fact, during this most recent trip we found an entire rack of Disney Villian items to choose from.

The two things that caught my eye during this trip was this Maleficent hat featuring the dragon from the classic Sleeping Beauty cartoon and this awesome Loungefly.

Personally, I loved the Loungefly backpack because it features so many of the Disney Villains all in very fun poses. My favorite happens to be Cruella in her car.

What can I say. . . . I identify with a crazy woman driving recklessly!

Speaking of Loungefly bags. . . . .

As I mentioned earlier in our discussion, I knew that BoxLunch carried Loungefly bags and I was well aware that they had some exclusive Disney styles. What I didn’t know before visiting was just how big that collection was. From Lilo and Stitch to Villians. . . . there were shelves upon shelves of different styles.

Not only did they have different prints, but they also had different styles of bags to include fanny pouches and mini-backpacks.

In my opinion, just seeing the selection at this particular BoxLunch location makes me think that this would be the perfect place to shop for that person who loves Loungefly bags and wants something a little bit different. Though these are Disney licenced Loungefly bags, they are not the same stuff that you see everyday.

If you’re hoping to see more bags that caught our eye during our last trip to BoxLunch, feel free to check out our Instagram. There, we have pictures of a few different bags that stood out to us.

The next thing that caught my attention was this very cute Wilderness Explorer onesie. Initially, it was the print that caught my eye. Then, after a closer look, I noticed that it was in fact a onesie and had to share it with those of you who might be interested in this type of thing.

Admittedly, I’m not keeping a close eye out for onesies when I’m shopping. However, there doesn’t usually seem to be a big selection of them out there either. At least not when we’re talking super cute Disney merchandise. BoxLunch had a lot though.

Unlike some of the other things we’ve talked about today, I was able to get a price on this one. This onesie is $14.90 as are many others like it at BoxLunch. As far as I am able to tell, the price for this onesie is somewhere in the middle of the road. With a quick search I was able to find onesies at shopDisney for around $19.00 each and at Target where you can expect to pay $14.99 for a set of three. All of these with fun Disney prints, incase you were wondering. The way I see it, these aren’t your best option if you’re looking to build an entire Disney wardrobe on a budget. On the other hand, the price is reasonable enough [don’t forget to keep an eye out for sales also] that you can get a few cute pieces without breaking the bank.

Last, but certainly not least, we have this sweatshirt featuring the lineup of characters from Disney afternoon cartoons. If you’re a child of the 90’s this one will most definitely speak to you. . . . then again with Disney+ I suppose it could be a good choice for just about anyone!

Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a huge fan of non-hooded sweatshirts like this, but the 90’s are back and so we’ve got this to deal with now. And if you think the lack of hood is going to stop me from wearing the right sweatshirt. . . . you’ve got another thing coming!

This was another one of the items that I was able to find over on the BoxLunch website. This is how I know that this Retro Disney Crewneck is not only a BoxLunch exclusive, but also $44.90. . . . . which quite frankly I think is a bit much. Look, like I’ve been saying since we started today’s discussion: I like that places like BoxLunch have some fun stuff that you won’t find elsewhere because of its exclusivity. However, price tags on some of these things can get a bit out of hand and a sweatshirt like this one is a pretty good example of what I’m talking about here. Maybe it’s that I’m frugal or maybe it’s just that I remember the days when something like this would cost $10.00, but I can never bring myself to pay that much for something like this. Of course, if it’s something that you like it’s something that you like. You should do what you want and can manage, but if you’re looking to build up a bunch of crewneck sweatshirts with fun prints, I personally think there are better and more affordable ways to go about it.

🦇

So there we have it! A quick look at some of the items that I saw over at BoxLunch. I hope that you had fun on this quick shopping trip with me and got some ideas as to what it is you can find at places like BoxLunch. I have to say, with places like this is does seem like there are some things that would be worth the trip and others that are a bit over the budget friendly line. Of course, this makes it worth checking the website for sale and browsing those clearance racks if you have a BoxLunch in your local area.

What do you think of what we talked about today? Do any of these items stand out to you? Don’t forget, you can see everything that caught our eye by visiting 2 Foolish Mortals on Instagram.
