Is The Walt Disney World Swan Worth The Price?

The past 12 months have been filled with lots of new experiences. From experiencing the parks with very limited capacity to staying at ‘off property’ hotels for the first time, I’ve been fortunate enough to vacation at Disney in ways I’ve never vacationed before. While some of those experiences were more notable and enjoyable than others, there is one that stands out above the rest; my stay at The Walt Disney World Swan.

Located in the highly desirable EPCOT area of resorts, The Walt Disney World Swan is a resort that I like to consider Disney’s best kept secret that isn’t a secret and doesn’t belong to Disney. Situated within walking distance of both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, The Walt Disney World Swan enjoys almost all of the features of a Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort at a fraction of the price. This includes complimentary transportation to and from the Walt Disney World theme parks, benefits available to Walt Disney World Resort Guests [to include benefits reserved for Guests staying at Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort Hotels] and the ability to link your reservation to the MyDisneyExperience app. The location also allows you easy access to the dining and entertainment options at the EPCOT area resorts. . . if the dining options available within The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin aren’t to your liking.

While the location of this resort is most likely the biggest draw for visitors who consider staying here, there is quite a bit more that The Walt Disney World Swan has to offer. This includes table service restaurants, quick service dining options, bars and more. There is also ample space to relax or work around the resort if you’re looking to lounge around or get some work done somewhere outside of your room.

The entire feel of the hotel is sleek and modern, which extends into the rooms. The rooms are bright and light, but not sterile. I also found the room to be spacious, with plenty of room to move around and ample space to tuck away luggage and/or other necessities like strollers or wheelchairs. Bedding in the room was comfortable and featured and actual duvet, which was a nice touch as hotels seem to be moving away from this around the Walt Disney World area.

Of course, the cherry on top of my experience was the staff at The Walt Disney World Swan. From the moment that I arrived until I stepped into my Lyft on the way to the airport, I was met with friendly faces who offered some of the best customer services I’ve experienced in a long time. To be completely honest, top notch doesn’t even begin to describe it. From the woman at the front desk to the housekeeping staff that I crossed paths with in the hall, everyone was at the same level of helpfulness and outstanding customer service. . . . . which was a real treat!

Last, but certainly not least, we have to take some time to talk about the price.

Despite being categorized as a “Deluxe” hotel [which it absolutely is], you won’t find yourself paying Deluxe prices to stay at The Walt Disney World Swan. Pricing for rooms at The Walt Disney World Swan start at under $200 per night [including a $35.00 per night resort fee] and can average at under $400 per night [including that resort fee]. While this is not the most affordable resort on Walt Disney World property, it’s much more reasonable than the $600 per night starting price of other EPCOT area resorts. In fact, having stayed in the EPCOT area resorts for many years [and being a DVC Member who owns a contract at Disney’s Beach Club], I find The Walt Disney World Swan to be the superior option. . . . even before taking into consideration the price.

That all having been said, while The Walt Disney World Swan might not be the most affordable place to stay at The Walt Disney World Resort, it’s certainly worth the money in my opinion. The location is ideal, the quality is fantastic and the customer service can’t be beat. . . . . not even by Disney.
