Park Pass Reservations Here To Stay Through 2023
Disney CEO Bob Chapek has shared some more information about what visiting WAlt Disney World [as well as other Disney theme parks] will look like for guests moving forward. In a discussion about theme park technology, Chapek talked about the Disney Park Pass reservation system as well as virtual queues, like what is used for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Chapek explained that the technology Disney is using for both the virtual queues and Park Pass reservation system is part of what helped keep guests safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. This, of course, being because these systems helped manage and mitigate crowds at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks.
During the discussion, Chapek was clear to point out that the Disney Park Pass reservation system will continue to be used at Walt Disney World; even as other health and safety protocols are pulled back. Though this specific piece of information was pointed out by Chapek, it doesn’t come as a surprise to guests who have been aware that Park Pass reservation system calendars extend out through 2023 for some time now.
Though this piece of information does not come as much of a surprise, there are still many mixed feelings about the decision to keep the Park Pass reservation system around. The same can also be said for virtual queues, which are well known for causing guest problems. While some feel that the systems are useful and help give guests a better overall experience, others feel as though they served their purpose and should be phased out like the rest of the health and safety protocols that have been put into place since the parks reopened last year.
We’d love to know what you think about this. Do you think that the park pass reservation system sticking around is a good thing or do you think it should go away once things return back to normal? Let us know your thoughts by sharing them in a comment down below.
