Welcome Foolish Mortals

We are Kathryn and Russell, the happy haunts that make up 2 Foolish Mortals. Before we get started here, we want to take a second to thank you for joining us here today. It’s good to see you! This is a place where we like to discuss all things travel and help you make your next trip, wherever it may be, the best possible! 

So. . . who exactly are we? 

We are a husband and wife team who enjoy lots of the same things [except Kung Fu movies. . . that’s all Russ], especially the love to travel and explore. The both of us are from Massachusetts, where we were both born and raised. In fact, we’re both from the same square mile. . . . which is how we met in the first place. After years of being friends, our friendship evolved into a relationship and we tied the knot in 2006. 

Our first 10 years together as a married couple were spent in Japan, where we lived and explored everything the country had to offer. This is also where Kathryn started her journey as a travel writer and video blogger. Focusing on life, moving to Japan, exploring your local area and even Tokyo Disneyland. [You didn’t think we’d be able to resist. . . did you!?] 

Eventually, it was time for another adventure. That’s when we decided to pack our bags, along with the 2 Fuzzy Mortals [aka our 2 dogs], and move to Minnesota. This was a new adventure for us both, but it was a big challenge for Kathryn as a travel writer and video blogger. She was up for the challenge though! As soon as everyone was settled, Kathryn started to explore the Midwest and then the rest of the United States.

When 2020 rolled around, like so many others, we found ourselves with an entirely new challenge on our hands. Life as we’d come to know it came to a halt and we now had to decide how to keep moving forward, which is when we decided to start a website focusing on Disney, travel, and vacation planning. Just like that 2 Foolish Mortals was born!

Combining our travel experience as well as our knowledge of the Walt Disney World Resort, where Kathryn spent many family vacations over the years, Kathryn started writing every change she got. . . which was all the time!

Eventually it was time for yet another move. Russell and Kathryn packed their bags once more for a move to the Sunshine State, where they currently reside.

Since our move to Florida, we’ve continued working towards our goals, but we also want to keep aiming to be better. This is why we’ve not only continued focusing on Walt Disney World, but we’ve expanded out to Universal Orlando. We’re not stopping there though! Throughout 2025, we’re going to be sharing even more adventures from around Florida and beyond! Of course, we can’t wait to take you along with us on those adventures and we hope you’re ready to tag along as well! Until then, we’re glad that you’ve materialized here and we hope that you find everything we do [or at least some of it] useful and entertaining!
