Disney’s Magical Express Ending In 2022
For the past 16 years, getting from Orlando International Airport to the Walt Disney World Resort had never been easier. With a little bit of planning and a reservation at one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, your vacation started the second you disembarked your aircraft. No need to pick up your luggage. no need to flag down a cab. Just make your way to Disney’s Magical Express and Disney took care of the rest!
Of course, as was the case with many other things at Walt Disney World, Disney’s Magical Express experienced some changes in 2020. Unlike in years past, Disney’s Magical Express was no longer collecting luggage for guests or delivering it to their rooms. The resort airline check-in service was also suspended. Then, in a post titled “A Look Ahead at Walt Disney World” on the Disney Parks Blog, we got the news that things are being taken a step further:
“Vacationers have more options to choose from than ever for transportation, including ride-share services that save time and offer more flexibility to go where they want, when they want. In light of this shift, when Disney Resort hotel bookings open for stays in 2022, we will no longer offer Disney’s Magical Express service for airport transportation, starting with arrivals Jan. 1, 2022. We will continue to operate the service for new and existing reservations made at Disney Resort hotels for arrivals throughout 2021. Additionally, complimentary transportation options – such as buses, monorails and Disney Skyliner – will continue to be available within Walt Disney World Resort for Disney Resort hotel guests, including to and from all four theme parks.”

Hearing this announcement has us feeling a bit disappointed. However, rather than share our opinions here today, we’re going to ruminate for a bit and get back to you. Until then. . . .what are your thoughts on this announcement?
UPDATE: On January 15 2021, a petition was started to bring back Disney's Magical Express. You can check the petition out HERE. We don’t have any other updates at this time, but we will keep you up to date.
