Annual Passholders FINALLY Get The Update They’ve Been Waiting For
There have been a lot of changes and adjustments that guests visiting Walt Disney World have had to adapt to in the past year or so. From social distancing to crowd management, the people at Disney have been doing what they can to keep the doors open while simultaneously trying to keep Guests and Cast Members safe. One of the many ways Disney has done this is to put in place a park pass reservation system.
We’ve talked about the Theme Park Pass Reservation System before. In a nutshell, this is a way for guests to make reservations for the parks that they want to visit as a way to manage crowd levels without having to turn people away at the gates. However, the program isn’t without its problems. One of the most notable problems with the park pass reservation system centers around how it works for Annual Passholders.
Since the Park Pass Reservation System was put into place, Annual Passholders visiting the Walt Disney World theme parks without a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel reservation were limited to 3 Park Pass Reservations at a time. This greatly reduced the amount of times that Passholders could visit the theme parks and in some cases, such as out of state Annual Passholders, it meant that vacations [where staying on property wasn’t an option] looked very different. However, that is about to change.
In an email sent to Annual Passholders this morning, Walt Disney World announced that starting September 8th Annual Passholders will now have the ability to hold Park Pass Reservations at a time. Platinum Plus, Platinum and Gold Annual Passholders will have the ability to hold 5 reservations at a time and Silver Passholders will have the ability to hold 4.
Though this is not quite the same as having the same unlimited access that Passholders had prior to the Park Pass Reservation System being put into place, it’s certainly an improvement; mainly because now Annual Passholders can hold at least one reservation for each of the Walt Disney World theme parks, unlike before.
Walt Disney World also outlined more information about the return or Annual Passes, including what Passholders can expect in the future.
What do you think about this change? Do you think it’s worth it or are you still holding out for when you can visit the parks without any restrictions again? Let us know your thoughts by joining the Jamboree!
