I don’t know about you, but if there are two things that I can’t get enough of it’s extra magic and saving money. I mean. . . . come on. . . no brainer, right!? Of course, it’s even more magical when you can add extra magic to your Walt Disney World vacation while saving money [especially if you’re the one crunching the numbers], which is why we’re both super excited to share one of our favorites with you today!

As some of you may already know, we’ve talked in the past about ways to cut costs while at Walt Disney World. We covered a few different things you can do, but one of our favorites is to pack snacks and some basic meals. With snacks coming in at an average of $7.00 each and meals around $15.00, food can take a major chunk out of your budget. . . . especially if you’re purchasing food you need rather than what you really want. One example I usually use to illustrate this point is breakfast. Breakfast options at Walt Disney World are what I would consider to be lacking. Though you can find Mickey waffles at your hotel’s counter service or reserve character dining, if you’re staying for any more than a couple days this can get boring and expensive. My solution? Bring breakfast with you!
Now, I know that some of you are thinking that packing breakfasts and bringing them on your Disney vacation with you isn’t very magical. I respectfully disagree. In fact, a little bit of imagination and even less money can present some really fun options for you and your family to enjoy. Today’s is Dinosaur Egg Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal from Quaker.
For me, whether I’m traveling to Walt Disney World or anywhere else in the world, instant oatmeal is always in my bag. It’s affordable, easy to make, easy to transport and filling enough that if I can start my day without immediately needing to find somewhere to grab a bite. It also comes in lots of different flavors and varieties to accommodate everyone in your party.
Today we’re talking about this Dinosaur Egg oatmeal though, because it’s too fun and would be a perfect breakfast before visiting DinoLand USA at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Everything about Dinosaur Egg Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal is what you’d expect from any other instant oatmeal as far as packaging and convenience are concerned. Each box comes with 8 individual packets of instant oatmeal that can be prepared simply by adding hot water. That’s easy enough to make happen with your room’s microwave. The box is also very reasonable at around $2.50 per box before tax.
There’s more to this oatmeal than meets the eye though!
As the name suggests, inside each packet of instant oatmeal are dinosaur eggs! These eggs, which hatch once hot water is added and mixed into the oatmeal, reveal tiny dinosaurs. The dinosaurs, which you can find while excavating your morning breakfast, are different shapes and colors.
All of us here at 2 Foolish Mortals absolutely love this oatmeal and even Russ, who had it for the first time only a few days ago, got a kick out of finding the dinosaurs in his breakfast. [No. You’re never too old to play with your food.] This is one of the reasons that we wanted to talk about it here on the site; it’s just too much fun to pass up if you’re visiting Animal Kingdom with a dino fan.
Admittedly, we had some trouble finding this Dinosaur Egg Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal at our local grocery stores. However, it was no trouble finding it online. I ordered my box from Target, which gave me 5% off and free shipping when I used my Red Card. Extra savings! You can find it elsewhere though, so keep an eye out on your favorite online retailers.
