Disney Stuff On A Tight Budget

One of the things that we are really passionate about here at 2 Foolish Mortals is helping you find ways to budget and save for [and on] your Walt Disney World vacation. That said, we know that it’s one thing to say something is possible and another to show how to make something possible. [There’s a soapbox moment here, but I’ll save that for some other day. . . ] This is why today, we’re talking a quick stroll through the aisles of our local dollar store to take a look at some of the great options available for Disney fans on a tight budget.

Cards For Various Occasions

Anyone out there ever notice how ridiculously experience greetings cards can be? I recognize that sometimes something’s just so cute or just perfect and you want to spend that $8.00, but for every other occasion. . . . the dollar store can be the way to go. Like I always say when we talk about dollar store finds, the selection is different at pretty much every location and can change frequently. This being the case, it’s a good idea to take a look during each visit and grab what catches your eye if you have the means to do so.

Puzzles & Activity Sets

Puzzles and activity sets are another thing to keep an eye out for at your local dollar store. I personally think puzzles, coloring books, crayons, stationary and other activity packs are a great dollar store purchase. Not only can they be enjoyed at home, but they can also be brought along on your next Walt Disney World vacation to keep everyone busy during a resort day or if you’re stuck in the room.

These types of items, along with pretty much everything else we’ll talk about today, can also be a great way to bolster gifts if you’re on a tight budget. Think about how much fun an Easter basket overflowing with activity packs or a few extra gifts under the tree might be. It probably goes without saying, but you can most definitely do more with less if you’re grabbing a few items at your local dollar store.

Plush Toys

Plush toys can also be another great find at your local dollar store. I managed to stumble upon a bin of Tsum Tsum microplush toys during my last visit. Though they weren’t quite the same as what you might find at shopDisney or around the parks, they would be a suitable substitute for a little one. Personally, I think that these [or other similar Disney plushies you might find] would be a great way to add a little bit of Disney magic to your next Walt Disney World vacation. I mean, imagine the smile on their faces if one of these little plushies appeared on the bed or somewhere else in the room when they arrived back after a day at the parks? Again, this is another one of those super simple and very affordable ways to make a big impact.

When you’re on a tight budget a lot of things can seen out of reach, However, with a little creativity and a few dollars here and there, you can make a lot of magic happen. I really hope that the chat we had today gives you an idea of what could be possible [and lots of fun] for you, but I realize that these are just a few basic examples. Both of us here at 2 Foolish Mortals will continue to keep an eye out for fun and easy ways to cut corners in the future and we hope you’ll share some of your ideas with us in a comment down below.

Until next time friends, stay spooky!
