How To Save On Disney Stuff

I don’t know about you, but I really enjoy adding a little Disney to my day to day. Whether I’m in the parks or at the supermarket, reaching into my Haunted Mansion bag and pulling out my Disney Parks wallet. . . . it just makes me smile. You know what doesn’t make me smile though? Sticker prices!

If there’s one thing that most of us here today can agree on it’s that Disney stuff is often expensive, especially in the parks. In fact, I’ve mentioned in a previous discussion that you can cut costs while at Walt Disney World by making some purchases [and taking advantage of sales] prior to your trip. What we haven’t discussed is the best place to look for the best deals and selection. Today, we’re going to talk about just that!

HOT TOPIC

There’s a very specific image that comes to mind when people think of HOT TOPIC. Having specialized in counterculture-related clothing and accessories since the late 80’s, it makes sense. However, what most people don’t realize is that HOT TOPIC is a great place to get your hands on some unique, fun and super cute Disney merchandise! From fun t-shirts and accessories to beautiful dresses and handbags, I can almost guarantee that you’ll be surprised at what you find!

Unique, fun and ever changing selection aside, the reason HOT TOPIC makes this list today is because of the deals. One of my personal favorites is the $6 T-Shirt Event that they hold annually, but it doesn’t stop there! In fact, there are so many great deals over at HOT TOPIC throughout the year that I strongly recommend signing up for email updates so you don’t miss out on any.

HOT TOPIC also has a Hot Cash coupon program that can maximize your savings in store.

Torrid

Specializing in fashion for women sizes 10 to 30, Torrid isn’t an ideal option for everyone. In fact, with its very specific demographic and far from reasonable prices, I’m sure some of you are wondering why it would make today’s list at all. The reason is simple; sales events.

Though the prices at Torrid aren’t far off from what you’d find at Walt Disney World, it’s the sales events [more specifically the clearance events] that make Torrid worthy of this list. With deals such as "buy 1 clearance item get 2 free”, there are opportunities to save a lot of cash on cute and flattering clothing sizes 10 to 30.

Though the clearance events are where Torrid really shines, there are lots of sales events throughout the year that are worth checking out. There’s also a Torrid Cash coupon program, similar to the one in place at HOT TOPIC, which can help you continue to save.

Target

Located in pretty much everyone’s neck of the woods, Target is a great place to check for deals on Disney merchandise. Aside from reasonable prices day to day, Target also has a good number of deals that you can take advantage of and maximize your savings any time of year.

Personally, I like to use Target Circle as a way of finding deals and earning cash rewards on purchases I’ve made. Target’s RedCard is another great way to save as it offers 5% off purchase [including clearance items] and free shipping. You can even use the Target RedCard to purchase select gift cards [including Disney gift cards] for 5% off!

Walmart

Last, but certainly not least, we have Walmart. It goes without saying that Walmart is a great place to search for deals. Whether you’re searching for some fun Disney clothes or a Mickey Mouse plush, Walmart is a great place to check out.

I also like to make a trip to Walmart before our trips to Walt Disney World to grab some snacks. As we’ve talked about before, bringing some snacks is a great way to cut costs while at Walt Disney World and having Disney themed snacks adds to the magic. . . . at least in our opinion. Though there are Disney snacks all over the place, the prices at Walmart can be hard to beat.
