“Mears Connect” Set To Step In For Disney’s Magical Express

Disney announced earlier this year that they would be discontinuing Disney’s Magical Express in January of 2022. The service, which has been a go-to for many over the past 16 years, offers guests complimentary transportation between Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World via Disney themed motorcoach.

The news of Disney’s Magical Express being discontinued did not go over well with guests. There was quite a bit of grumbling online and some even went so far as to start a petition, but that didn’t sway Disney in their decision. The cries didn’t go unheard though!

In a recent announcement from Mears, the company that operates Disney’s Magical Express, future guests were presented with another option for getting from Orlando International Airport to hotels around the Walt Disney World Resort; Mears Connect. According to the announcement “Mears Connect”,

“. . . will offer the same safe and reliable service the company has provided millions of guests for decades. The Mears Connect service will initially operate between the Orlando International Airport and resorts in the Walt Disney World area. It will provide fast and convenient transportation service for visitors in high occupancy vehicles, thereby reducing traffic and lowering environmental impacts. Guests can expect scheduled service, luggage handling, convenient airport terminal staging, and return trips from resorts to the airport. In addition, Mears will offer enhancements to ensure greater convenience and vehicle options. Pricing for all services will be announced later this year, along with the launch of a customer reservation platform.”

The announcement goes on to say:

“We plan to offer the same level of experience, service and convenience we’ve provided for the last 16 years, on behalf of our longtime partner, as returning guests and first-time visitors can expect nothing less.”

-Roger Chapin, Mears Spokesperson.

Mears Connect is set to start transporting guests starting January 2022, which is in line with the discontinuation of Disney’s Magical Express.
