‘Ohana Noodles RETURN! | Noodlegate Simmers Down

In a recent announcement, Disney informed guests that a fan favorite would be returning to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. After being closed for more than a year, ‘Ohana is set to reopen, but with a few changes. Of course, it didn’t take guests long to notice that something was missing from the menu; ‘Ohana noodles.

This is not the first time that ‘Ohana noodles had been removed from the menu at the popular table service dining location. The last time, in what is referred to by some as the first installment of noodlegate, they were replaced with rice. . . . which didn’t go well. Before long they would be put back on the menu due to guest demand.

Unlike the first time that Disney removed the noodles from the menu, guests were informed before the restaurant reopened and didn’t hold back speaking their mind about the change. Conversation started on social media just about as soon as the new menu was released and there’s no doubt that Disney was made aware of the pushback, because today they made another announcement; the noodles would return.

In a post made on the Disney Parks TicTok, the much loved ‘Ohana noodles returned as part of display of “favorites” that will be coming to ‘Ohana when the restaurant reopens in July. Like other dishes, the ‘Ohana noodles are served up family style in a cast iron skillet, with plenty to go around!

Though we’ve never been to ‘Ohana or tried the noodles, we’re glad to see that they have been put back on the menu. Not only is it good to see something familiar return to the menu at a beloved restaurant people have undoubtedly been missing, but it’s also good to know that they’re getting ahead of problems before they start. [Goodness knows Cast Members have had to deal with their share of disgruntled guests. . . . why add this to the list of complaints they’ll have to field?]

Have you ever had ‘Ohana noodles before? What did you think about them and would you recommend them to someone as a “must have” during their next Walt Disney World vacation? Join the Jamboree and tell us all your thoughts! We’d love to hear them and what you have to say about other conversations we’re having about Disney, travel and vacation planning! See you over there!
