Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Set To Reopen

After nearly a year, Walt Disney World is finally planning to reopen Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The resort, which was one of the first to open at Walt Disney World in the 70’s, has been a favorite ever since. With the tropical theme, sandy beaches and amazing restaurants, it’s not hard to see why!

Like many of the other Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort did not reopen initially when Walt Disney World started welcoming guests back. However, we got word from Walt Disney World that the wait is over! Walt Disney World is now accepting reservations for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for arrivals beginning July 19th 2021.

Though guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the resort once again, some of the resort areas and amenities will be unavailable. This includes the monorail station and monorail service from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. While other transportation options will be available, such as Disney Bus Transportation and various transportation options that are available from the Transportation and Ticket Center, the monorail will remain temporarily unavailable. Other areas of the resort, to include the front entrance to the Great Ceremonial House, will not reopen with the rest of the resort.

Though we’re glad to see the resort reopen to guests, it’s important to keep in mind that these ongoing renovations may impact your stay; especially if you’ll be staying sooner rather than later. We recommend staying flexible and understanding that you may have to do a little bit of improvising when it comes to getting around the resort at first.

Are you looking forward to staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort when it reopens? Tell us all about it by joining the jamboree. We’ll see you over there!
