St. Patrick’s Day Food At Walt Disney World

We’re only one week away from St. Patrick’s Day and that means that holiday inspired goodies are rolling out all over the Walt Disney World Resort. From delicious drinks to amazing looking dishes, if you’re thinking about celebrating the luck of the Irish you’ve got plenty of options to choose from!

☘️

According to Disney Parks Blog the locations with special St. Patrick’s Day offerings include Amorette’s Patisserie, The Ganachery, D-Luxe Burger, City Works Eatery & Pour House, Vivoli il Gelato, YeSake, Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant, Tamu Tamu Refreshments, Isle of Java, Thirsty River Bar & Trek Snacks, Creature Comforts, Restaurantosaurus, Flame Tree Barbecue, Nomad Lounge, Dino-Bite Snacks, Landscape of Flavors, Everything Pop Shopping and Dining, Dahlia Lounge, Three Bridges Bar & Grill, Gasparilla Island Grill, Good to Go, The Artist Palette, Wind & Waves Market, Roaring Fork, Beach Club Marketplace and The Market at Ale & Compass.

If you’ve picked up on the lack of St. Patrick’s Day offerings at the parks, you’re not alone. This list mostly includes locations at Resort hotels and Disney Springs leaving Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the only theme park location to find St. Paddy’s Day treats. Our best guess is that this has something to do with crowd levels. With St. Patrick’s Day happening smack dab in the middle of spring break, which is fully booked according to what we’re seeing on the Theme Park Reservation System, it seems like a good decision to give guests who won’t be in the parks an opportunity to celebrate with something special. This may also be Disney’s attempt to draw crowds away from the parks so that guests who want to enjoy the theme parks aren’t turned away because capacity limits are being met by guests who only want to try the foods.

In our opinion, which we won’t go into great detail about here, this is an awesome decision on the part of Disney. We both appreciate that these offerings are available in non-ticketed areas so that they can be enjoyed by more people. We also like that they bring a bit more magic to a Resort day. That’s always a good thing in our book!

Ok! Enough about that! Let’s get back to the food!

☘️

As is so often the case, with a long list of restaurants and shops where offerings are available comes a long list of menu items to choose from. And boy oh boy do some of these sound amazing!

Available at Three Bridges Bar & Grill, located at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, you’ll find this cute dessert that’s wearing a festive hat! This St. Paddy’s Day Dessert is an Irish cream mousse filled pâte à choux with pistachio cream and a chocolate shamrock. This is available at Dahlia Lounge from March 17th through the 20th.

This one makes the top of our list for most delicious sounding and looking dessert on this list. Of course, it helps that it’s cute too. Also, while we’re on the topic, neither of us have ever visited Dahlia Lounge at Disney’s Coronado Springs before, but it looks like a beautiful place to enjoy a drink and maybe dessert like this one.

☘️

Next, let’s head on over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom where there’s quite the list of dun and tasty St. Patrick’s Day offerings to choose from. Like we talked about earlier, this is the only theme park on the list. Despite that being the case, there are still quite a few options to choose from located throughout the park. That said, the two menu items that stood out to us are both located in Dino-Land USA.

The first of the two can be found at Restaurantosaurus and is called St. Patrick’s Day Reuben Totchos. These totchos are crispy tater tots loaded with nacho cheese, sauteed corn beef, sauerkraut, Thousand Island dressing and crunchy rye croutons. As the name suggests, this is everything that you love about a Reuben slapped down on top of what some of us would consider the world’s best vehicle. . . . tater tots.

This dish sounds absolutely delicious to us, but it’s admittedly not for everyone. Reuben sandwiches aren’t for everyone and if they’re not for you then you might want to skip out on this one, but if they are. . . . . . I’m sure you’ll be in for quite the treat! This will be available at Restaurantosaurus from March 12th through the 17th.

This location, which will undoubtedly be a hot ticket, will be hosting the Raglan Road Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival which will feature live entertainment by bands “imported from Ireland”. Because their menu always features delicious Irish cuisine [of which I prefer the fish and chips] you can’t go wrong. The event is being held only on March 17th and Raglan Road is taking reservations, so be sure to get yours in fast if you don’t want to miss out on this one!

Last, but certainly not least, we’ve got a cake shake coming to Vivoli il Gelato. This Green Velvet Cake Shake is made with cake batter gelato, green velvet cake, milk, whipped cream and cannoli filling. This sounds-way-too-sweet-but-i’d-get-it-anyway cake shake will be available through March 31st.

Generally speaking, we’re not a huge fan of “velvet” cake anything, but this does sounds pretty delicious. . . especially with that cannoli filling. There’s also another offering at this location called the St. Patrick’s Affagato which is your choice of felato, matcha tea, and whipped cream. This is much more our speed, particularly the matcha, and I’d definitely be giving this a try too!

There are, of course, many other delicious menu items to choose from all around the Walt Disney World Resort. For example, this really cute cupcake featuring Chip ‘N Dale which is available at Wilderness Lodge’s Roaring Fork from now until March 17th. These are just the ones that stood out to us.

Will these be all the offerings around Walt Disney World for St. Patrick’s Day? That’s a good question! I’m going to make a bold statement here and say. . . . . probably not. With so many shops around Walt Disney World making seasonal and specialty treats regularly, such as Gidion’s and Glazed, it would be a bit of a surprise if they didn’t made limited time addition to their menu. Of course, we’ll just have to wait and find out.
