How To Get Cheap Disney Parks Merchandise | Twice Upon A Year Sale
A trip to Walt Disney World is many things. . . . . affordable isn’t usually one of them. The same can be said for buying Disney Parks merchandise. Cute as something might be, families traveling on a tight budget [or even those who are casually thrifty] can find the prices hard to stomach. Fortunately, there are ways around paying full price for a lot of the great stuff you’ll find at Walt Disney World and I’m going to share one of them with you today!
As the title up above suggests, today we’re talking about the shopDisney Twice Upon A Year Sale. This is a sale that happens twice a year over on shopDisney, the official Disney merchandise website. Unlike some other places that sell licenced Disney merchandise, shopDisney sells Disney Parks merchandise [among other things]. This means that you can find a lot of Disney must haves over on the website and have them shipped directly to your home.
There are a lot of great reasons that you might want to go this route when purchasing Disney Parks merchandise, but our favorite is for the sales. Like we talked about in my Cutting Costs At Walt Disney World post, purchasing some park must haves ahead of time at a discount and bringing them with you can be a great way to cut costs during your vacation. One of the ways to get that Disney Parks merchandise at discount is this Twice Upon A Year Sale where items are in the ballpark of 40% off!
Currently, shopDisney’s Twice Upon A Year Sale is starting to wrap up, but I wanted to give you an idea of what you could expect from the sale in the future. Of course, items and prices change, but I’ve picked out some of my favorite finds to share with you!

Backpacks are an absolute must when doing any sort of traveling. Though any backpack will do, having something that features your [or your child’s] favorite characters just adds to the magic! Better yet, backpacks are an item that can be used well beyond your vacation. [And boy oh boy do I love something that can get a lot of use!]
There were a few different backpacks [for both children and adults] on shopDisney when I looked, but this one stood out to me. I love the Toy Story 4 Characters and that it’s a dark color [less likely to stain while at the parks].
The best part? This backpack can be yours for $20.00 less than the original sticker price!
Speaking of functional and multi-use. . . .
The shopDisney Twice Upon A Year Sale is a great place to get your hands on clothes! Like a backpack, clothes featuring your favorite Disney characters can be used well after returning home from your vacation. Not to mention, sporting a cute Disney themed outfit while at the parks is loads of fun!
Here, you can see a few examples, but don’t let my small selection fool you. There are some great discounts on clothing for both kids and adults on shopDisney! You can even find spirit jerseys and leggings [sometimes a whole matching set if you catch the sale early] making this a great way to build a fun park day outfit!
Another item that usually falls into the “there’s no way I can afford that” column is Disney Princess Dresses. Though they’re not for everyone, if you’ve traveling with an aspiring Disney princess, then you might be able to make their dream come true with something you find on sale at shopDisney. . . . . like this amazing Snow White dress!
Similar to what I’d imagine you’d get from the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, this dress is absolutely beautiful. Though the price might still be a bit much to handle for some, I think it’s worth mentioning considering the original price was $99.99 plus tax.
Of course, other Disney princess dresses and costumes make their way onto shopDisney [and into the Twice Upon A Year Sale] at much more manageable princess and for those who dream of being other princesses. . . . so be sure to keep an eye out!
Last, but certainly not least, we have plushies! Truth be told, shopDisney isn’t the only place that sells great Disney plushies. . . . . some of them are just too darn cute though!
Plushies are another great example of something you can buy on sale and bring with you. This is especially the case for the classic Mickey and Minnie plushies [that are significantly cheaper pretty much anywhere outside of Walt Disney World], but can be a great choice no matter what your [or your child’s] favorite character is.
This super cute Remix plush [originally $14.99] had the price tag slashed by almost $10.00 [on sale for $4.95] during the Twice Upon A Year Sale.
Like I said at the top of our discussion, shopDisney’s Twice Upon A Year Sale is a great way to get discounted Disney Parks merchandise. Though the items are always changing, and some of them sell out rather quickly, it’s always worth a look to see what deals you might be able to take advantage of.
