Perks Of An Off Property Condo/Villa Style Accommodations

There are a lot of different options when it comes to accommodations in the Central Florida area nearby the Walt Disney World Resort. Of course, there are all of the options on the Walt Disney World Resort, but there are also endless options “off-property”. The question is, which option is going to be best for you and your family?

Trying to figure out exactly what’s going to be right for you and your family can be tricky; especially when so many people have such strong opinions about whether you should stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or elsewhere off-site. The thing is, while they may have strong opinions one way or another, which option is going to be best for you is heavily reliant on the wants and needs of your family. So let’s explore some options that you might want to consider when visiting Central Florida and the Walt Disney World Resort. . . . . and let’s start with off-property condo or villa style accommodations.

If you’re looking for accommodations in the Central Florida area, there’s a good chance that you’ve stumbled upon a hotel or resort offering condos or villas. These are rooms that are usually larger than standard hotel or hotel rooms, often offering separate [or multiple] bedrooms, living areas, kitchen and in some cases in unit laundry. If this sounds like a small apartment, that’s because it basically is, with all the convenience of a hotel or resort.

Having so much space can be really convenient because it allows for more room to spread out, but also gives families the option of all staying in one room rather than having to book multiple. This is great for larger families, but also those who just like to have lots of space when on vacation rather than being limited to one small room. These types of accommodations are also great for families who like to spend lots of time at the resort lounging around, but prefer not to just sit in bed. With kitchens, living areas and plenty of space to just be it can be a great option for the more casual family.

This all having been said it’s important to keep in mind that there are some things you will need in order to make this type of accommodation work though. In most cases, these types of accommodations aren’t going to have perks or benefits when it comes to visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. In other words, you’ll need to arrange your own transportation to and from the Walt Disney World Resort. For families that have their own car, this isn’t something that be too concerned about, but if you’re flying in this fact can add to the cost per night if you have to rent a car or take a ride share. In that case, these types of accommodations might nit be right for you.

Personally, we’ve stayed in these types of accommodations before both at the Walt Disney World Resort and elsewhere off-property. While some of them have been fantastic, others left us wondering why we spent so much money on such a lousy hotel. This is why we recommend making sure that you’re not only doing your research, but also crunching the numbers. This is especially important if you’re considering flying in and renting a car so that you can stay at one of these off-property resorts rather than staying on property and exclusively using Disney transportation.

With all of this having been said, we’d love to know what you think. Have you ever stayed in one of these condos or villas before? What did you think and would you do it again? Tell us all about it!
