They Have Bubble Wands! | Disney Store Finds March 2021

Well, my fellow Happy Haunts, it’s March and that means we’ve found another excuse to make a trip down to one of our local Disney Store locations. Of course, any excuse is a good excuse to get out of the house and slip away from the realities of life while listening to the Coco soundtrack and browsing the shelves of Disney merchandise.

. . . . and that’s just what we did!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to the Disney Store if we didn’t keep an eye out for our favorite new merchandise and share it with you! That’s why we’re here today and boy oh boy did we find some fun stuff! Seriously, if I didn’t have a budget I was trying to stick to we could have walked out of this place with a shopping cart full!

🦇

First up, we have to take a second to talk about the new nuiMOs that were waiting for us right at the front of the store. As you all know, I’m a huge fan of the super cute posable plushies that have been brought to the United States [from Japan] earlier this year. As soon as they hit shelves I got my hands on Mickey and Minnie, but two new friends joined the party this month and I had to grab them while I could!

Like we talked about last week, the newest addition to the nuiMOs family for those of us here in the US is Kermit the Frog and MIss Piggy. These come following the release of The Muppet Show on Disney+ last month.

As you might expect, Kermit is . . . . dressed like a frog. I suppose that’s the best way to say it, ‘cause he’s not wearing anything. Miss Piggy, on the other hand, is wearing a pink dress with matching gloves, shoes and pearls. Both of these nuiMOs come in at $17.99 each, which is the same price of the first set that was released in February.

We also got a look at the next set of nuiMOs outfits that were released this month. Unlike last month’s selection, these are not “designer” and so they average in the $12.99 price range. Though none of the outfits in the original collection spoke to us, these were really cute and there are a few that I would definitely consider adding to my shopping bag. There are also a few outfits that came with accessories like handbags and sunglasses, which we both thought were super cute!

Moving right along from the nuiMOs, because I know we seem to be talking about them an awful lot recently, we’ve got another exciting addition to one of the Disney Store locations in my neck of the woods. Oh yeah! We’re talking about bubble wands!

If you thought that it was hard to pull your kids away from those carts of glowing, bubble producing toys at Walt Disney World, just wait until you see this! This massive glowing display, shaped like a Mickey bubble wand, popped up at one of our local Disney Store locations this month and I’ll admit, it was hard to resist myself.

Though they probably win the award for “toy you’re most likely to never touch after returning home from your vacation”, bubble wands are one of those things that kids just can’t seem to resist. In fact, the kid in me is always drawn to the cart where I usually can’t make up my mind and walk away empty handed.

The wands we saw on this epic display included Lightning McQueen, Stitch, Buzz Lightyear and, my personal favorite, Chip! The price of these bubble wands comes in at $22.99 each, which as best we can tell includes batteries; no bubbles seem to be included.

As hard as it was to resist buying my Chip bubble wand, it just didn’t feel as magical as it would be buying one at the parks. Of course, that doesn’t mean this wouldn’t be a good buy for you and your family. This might be a great opportunity to buy bubble wands using discounts, coupon codes or whatever other promotions might be happening when you decide to make your purchase.

One of the items that Russ happened to see tucked away on the bottom shelf of a display was this very adorable baby stitch plush. This “Stitch Plush In Pouch - Disney Babies” is part of a larger collection of baby Disney characters swaddled up on blankets featuring images from their corresponding movies. In this case, Stitch is swaddled in a blanket that has images of Scrump, star and other tropical plants.

I have such a soft spot for this Disney Babies collection. The super cute plush depiction of characters like Stitch, Mickey, Dumbo and many more are very cute! The only thing holding me back from having a few in my ever growing collection of plushies is the price tag. These 10 inch plush toys are $32.00 each, which to me feels a bit steep. As a comparison, the Big Feet plush of a similar size come in at around $26.99 and you can expect to pay around $44.99 for an 18 inch plush. That is, of course, outside of any deals which often run at Disney Store locations and shopDisney.

That said, since I first got a glimpse of these Disney Babies I’ve been keeping an eye out for sales and promotions. To date, I’ve bet to see them as part of a “buy two for a lower price” deal; nor have I seen any on clearance racks as of yet. My eyes are staying peeled though!

We’re also starting to see a lot more of the sleeping Disney character plush toys pop up in the Disney Store. This time, aside from Mickey and Minnie Mouse, we saw our first Rex. Resting peacefully with his tiny arms, this Toy Story character would be a really cute addition to the throw pillows on the bed or couch of a Toy Story fan.

Rex here is part of the Cuddleez collection, which means he’s super soft and fluffy. He’s also around 25 inches in length making him perfect for snuggling and cuddling!

At a similar price point to Stitch, this Rex plush is $34.99 and has me thinking back to what we were talking about just a second ago. As I mentioned with the Disney Babies plush, they are rather small for the price when you consider that roughly the same amount could get you something like this. Of course, it really depends on what exactly it is you’re looking for, but it’s always something to keep in mind when doing your shopping; especially if you’re doing your shopping online or at your local Disney Store and packing away items to bring with you on vacation.

Another thing that caught our eye during our most recent trip to the Disney Store was luggage. Now, the Disney Store has always carried some variety of luggage. You can usually find the widest selection on shopDisney, but there are a few pieces that end up in the shops every now and again. Usually, they’re of the smaller variety for either children or carry-on. We saw a few different pieces of luggage during this visit, but the one that stood out to me is the Mickey Mouse rolling luggage that I’ve pictured here.

There are a lot of things that I like about this particular piece of luggage. The first thing that caught my eye is the color, which is always helpful when traveling, and the fact that it’s a hard shell. I’m a huge fan of hard shell luggage because of its durability and how well it protects the items you’ve stored inside. Of course, different brands offer different amounts of protection, but anything is better than textile luggage. It also has a retractable handle and, more importantly, four rotating wheels. I’m a huge fan of making sure your luggage has 4 rotating wheels because it makes the luggage easier to maneuver. . . . . like much easier to maneuver!

Coming in at 19 inches and available for $49.99 each, this versatile piece of luggage isn’t what I would consider a bad price. For me, as I mentioned, it hits a lot of marks that I look at when shopping for luggage and if you’re wanting something with Mickey’s face all over it then you can’t go wrong. At least not in our opinion.

🦇

This next one shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone, but I find myself drawn back over to the girls swimsuits during this trip to the Disney Store. This month it’s another Disney Princess swimsuit that caught my eye.

Much like the Little Mermaid swimsuit that we saw a couple months back, this is another super cute pattern featuring adorable renditions of Disney princesses. This pink swimsuit features Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty with a ruffle that goes across the front and gold straps.

Unlike the LIttle Mermaid swimsuit that we talked about in a past post, this does not seem to be part of a larger set. Though there are other princess themed accessories that would help you create a magical beach day for the little princess you’re traveling with, there don’t seem to be any additional accessories with this print as of yet. Don’t worry, we’ll keep an eye out though!

Finally, it looks like the Disney continues to expand on the Flair collection. We noticed a few new pins and these very cute bag charms during our visit. These charms, which could just as easily function as keychains, vary in price and styles.

The Lady and the Tramp charm is $12.99 and featured Lady and the Tramp as well as a “Tony’s Restaurant” charm. The Fantasyland Castle Icon Bag Charm, which is $16.99, also stood out to us. Of course, the collection includes much more than these two items that we’ve shown here today. We also saw a Kuzco charm and a Mickey Mouse hamburger charm as well.

To me, these charms are rather large and might be a bit cumbersome whether they’re used on a bag or keychain, Of course, it’s really a matter of personal preference. That said, they are absolutely a great way to show off your love for Disney!

🦇

As is always the case, we saw a lot more today than we’ve talked about in today’s post.
