Drury Plaza Room Tour & Review | Disney Springs Area
Visitors to the Central Florida area have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to accommodations, but now there’s one more on the list; Drury Plaza Orlando Disney Springs Area.
Located nearby the Walt Disney World Resort’s shopping and entertainment district, the Drury Plaza Hotel has quite a bit to offer. Not only is the proximity to the Walt Disney World Resort great for families looking for a place to stay nearby, but there’s a long list of amenities that Drury Plaza Hotel offers to guests. In fact, the list is so extensive and impressive that we’re going to have a separate conversation all about it!
Until then, let’s talk a little bit about the room!
For our stay, we booked a King Suite with a fireworks view and got room 718. This room is on the 7th floor and overlooks the pool, lake and the Walt Disney World Resort in the distance. This not only gives us a great view of Disney Springs, but also Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and even Magic Kingdom! This means we’re likely to have a view of the fireworks; which we’ll talk a bit more about later.
Upon entering the room you step into what is essentially the living room. This is a rather large space, the size of a small hotel room in and of itself. It has a rather large and somewhat comfortable couch, table, ottomans and an end table. There’s also a wet bar with a small sink, coffee maker, drink cooker [small refrigerator] and a small microwave.
While the wet bar isn’t something we’d compare to a kitchenette, it’s definitely a nice addition to the room. With the refrigerator, microwave and sink, there’s plenty of space to heat up leftovers or prepare a light meal.
Next we have the bathroom. This bathroom is rather large and has plenty of space to not only move around, but also lay out everything you’ll need to prepare for or clean up after a long day. There is also integrated lighting in mirror, which is great for putting on makeup. There’s also plenty of space under the counter to put toiletries so that they can be tucked away, but not out of sight. This is something that we found very helpful during our stay, because it kept the clutter from being on the countertop, but didn’t really hide anything away.
Finally is the bedroom. This bedroom was also rather large and felt quite spacious. It includes a king size bed, 2 nightstands, a dresser and a desk with office chair. This was a great place to act as our “command center” where we kept electronics and other important items that we didn’t want to misplace. It was also a great place to get some work done while we were in the room.
Overall, the room feels fresh and new; which is to be expected from a hotel that opened up so recently. Whether or not it will stay that way is heavily dependent on the upkeep over the years. However, the bones of the room feel spacious and very much worth the money that they are charging per night. While there’s often a part of the room that we can point to as feeling cramped, this room doesn’t seem to have that. It feels well planned and thought our giving guests a comfortable place to rest, lounge and move.
Of course, we’d love to hear what you have to say about the Drury Plaza Hotel. Have you stayed here before? Would you consider it? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below.
